The dedication of Destiny Organics, LLC to sustainability is witnessed by continuously improving actions and habits. In 2006 we sent 100 tons of cardboard back for processing into “new” boxes. In 2007 DPL warehouse operations will use only cartons made from “100% post-consumer fiber.” This will happen in our repack department as well as our “bulk to box” service that we offer growers.
As we continue to attack the waste stream, 2007 will see us reprocess all plastic bags, wrap and pallet bands. All scrap wood from pallets and packaging will be recycled to make mulch. The office, kitchen and break room will each do its share of recycling. All invoices and office reports will be printed on post consumer content paper. Employees are encouraged and welcomed to recycle personal material with their company.
In 2009, Destiny Organics partnered with a Composting Company that picks up daily all non consumable produce.
Perhaps the boldest step that we take in 2007 will be to commit to powering our trucks with “bio-diesel” made from 20% pure chicken fat from Georgia. Please join us on the road to sustainability. With your help and inspiration we will soon be marking the mile stones of restoration. |
