
A naturally dark cap that ranges in color from light tan to rich brown, and a meaty, earthy flavor distinguish the Crimini from the Agaricus (white buttons). The hearty Crimini can be substituted in any recipe specifying white buttons when more full-bodied.
The largest of the commercially available mushrooms with a tan/brown cap. A long growing cycle gives a deep, meat-like flavor and substantial texture. Serve them whole or sliced, grilled, baked or deep-fried, or as an appetizer, side-dish or entree.
